Prototype 1

The first prototype is completed. I can't place my finger on it, but there's something not quite right with this design even with the additional beams. So it's on to the next prototype.

I have to admit...I'm very impressed! No...I'm jealous! Whatever direction you go with your platforms, I'm sure they'll be amazing!

Well, you've inspired me! :-)

I was considering going with some of the commercial products for my platforms (e.g. Faller), but the cost for these relatively simple structures is too much! So I started today on building my platforms! I'm going to be using some of your tips. For now they will be 'uncovered' until I can figure out a good way to add roofs to the platforms.

@Jerry. I'm looking forward to seeing your completed platforms. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to work on prototype 2 of the roof structure as I am on holiday in Hong Kong. You might be finished your platform before I do. I wouldn't be surprised by this as you seem to be able to get so much done so quickly. What's your secret?

By the way, what are you using for your platforms? Evergreen or Plastruct? I am finding that the solvent I have works differently between the two manufacturers. Apparently the guys in the club have mentioned that Plastruct recommends using their own solvent. The other thing I've noticed is the extruded cylindrical sytrene tubes by Evergreen are not as white as their rectangular styrene strips. Just be careful if you elect to mix the two.
